An answer to my prayers...

Hey guys, so let me bring you up to speed with things. On Monday night on my way to work my power steering pully broke and my truck began to start running hot. I don't think my truck was as hot as I was when realizing what was going on. Keep in mind I haven't even had the truck for six months yet, 2002 Ford F150 by the way. So I had to pull over quite a few times to let the engine cool down and finally made it to work about 8 minutes late. So the whole night I was stressing over it because the next two days I was going on my vacation to visit my Aunt and Uncle in San Antonio. So when I got off work at 7am Tuesday morning I popped my hood and look. My belt was stripped and the power steering pump pulley was broken. I called my Dad and he picked me up in Galveston.(20 minute drive) My Dad has worked on cars for years and assured me that it was my power steering pulley and that he knew a guy from a wrecking yard that might have my part. We first went to a place in Galveston to get a price on a belt and I won't give the name but to tell you the truth the customer service was comical. After we got quoted our price from the muffin man lol, he told us that we  could only purchase a pulley from the dealership.

Ok plan B
So we went to the wrecking yard a block from my house and talked to the owner. As soon as we told him the year and make of my truck, he immediately said he just removed an engine from a 2003 Ford F150 and had a power steering pump with the pulley. He only charged me $30, now that's what I call a deal. Now as we were walking to the car my Dad's friend drove by and we caught up to him and discussed what we were doing. He said he would help us if we needed him to. So we headed back to Galveston from Texas City (20 min) and purchased a belt from Auto Riley excellent customer service by the way. Afterwards we headed back to my job outside the parking lot. It was maybe 10:30am when we began disassembling the parts and we got all the way to one last bolt that we could not get loose because of the confined space. You know I think they make cars that way on purpose just so you have to take them to the dealership and pay an arm and a leg for repairs. We wrestled and wrestled to get that bolt off until about 12:30pm when the sun's heat index reached extreme temperatures and we decided to call it off until the next day.

Wednesday morning 8am we picked up my Dad's friend and headed to Jack in the Box for breakfast then headed back to Galveston. How thankful I was to my Dad's friend for getting that stubborn bolt loosened and the new pump and belt replaced. End result, truck running like new again. So what's the lesson? Well I have learned from this experience that prayer is essential to life. Whenever we go through things in life and it seems we might have lost all hope, God is in full control at all times. He can maneuver matters to work in your favor only if you ask him for help and exercise faith. May this post help strengthen your faith in God and know that you can call on him 24/7 and never get a busy signal.
